The heat bubble has broken, as have I, but I have had a very productive week when it comes to my WIPs.
To start - now that I'm very close to finishing and handing over the presents (and no one reads this blog yet), I can comfortably share some photos, safe in the knowledge that the recipient isn't going to see them on here: two baby blankets and two baby hats for a set of twins (boys) due in a few weeks. The hats are done, the blue blanket is 5/8 done, it's just the matcha green one that lags behind, 4 out of 20 lace repeats and a I used the King Cole Cardigan, Hat and Blanket 6180 pattern, which I think I found on Ravelry.
It's been easy to follow, except for when I figured out I've been yfwd-ing wrong for the last... 30 years, but I like learning new things, and now my lace is a lot tighter.
I'm tempted to try the cardigan - I would really like to if time (and stock) permits. I've been using Drops Paris, a 100% cotton yarn, with a wide variety of colours. While I usually would use wool, alpaca, mohair; I realise that parents need to be able to wash baby vomit off their clothes and items at high temperature - this cotton washes at 60'C, can be on medium heat in the dryer and be ironed without problem, so I think I'm covered. In fact, I'm going to be using the Paris to make the Marielle Blouse when I'm done with my current platter of projects, it will be nice to have items that don't shrink in the wash.
The only issue with the Paris is that it comes in such small skeins, 50g, 75m for around £0.85 (on sale from WW). It's taken me 2 per hat, 8-9 per blanket. I feel the cardigan would be in the middle somewhere around the 6 region.

My Sonja sweater has come on well, the collar and hem are done. I've found the same issue with the hem as I did with the Olga; it's too loose, it's a non-hem to me. That aside, I am really enjoying how quickly it came together construction-wise, and I've decided that I'm going to make a few more afterwards, with alterations (I have a haul of Drops Air around in various colours, and I'm looking forward to using them up on some comfortable casual light summer-autumn jumpers).

Lastly, my sunshine Lakes is still... a WIP. It's still ongoing, but my drive to finish it has really disappeared. I'm awaiting the delivery of the white Rios to finish up the hem and the collar, and we'll see if I have renewed vigour when they're done; but I'm already overthinking how I won't like the white cuffs either. I'm too far in to give up now, but I do not have any faith in this project which has been very costly too. I've been using Malabrigo Worsted in Sauturne, with Lace Sauturne and Drops Brushed Alpaca and Kid Silk alternating (in White) to create a subtle stripe to the jumper. It's cost me time and money to even wind the damn things, it's been a drain on my energy and it's too big and heavy too put in my bag on the way to work. Viva la Sonja at this point.
