My journey into the world of knitting
I've been knitting since I was small, a skill I learned during school holidays that stayed with me over the years. I'd pick up my needles and put them down as the mood took me. A few years ago, a friend asked to learn, and the spark was reignited. I started knitting more seriously, eventually designing my own items. A year later, I felt ready to start sharing and selling my designs.
Why BrightColoursBigKnits?
To justify my penchant for weird and wonderful yarns, I started a blog where I could review my latest purchases. I love colour (hence the name!) and big, expressive items. While basic knits are lovely, I want to celebrate odd shapes, bright colours, and those "look at what I made" jumpers.
Embracing every shape and size
I'm committed to size inclusivity in my patterns. Having experienced various body shapes and sizes myself, I know that 'plus size' isn't a one-size-fits-all term. Bigger bodies shouldn't always be hidden away in draped fabric. Some carry weight on their chest, some on their arms, some on their stomach, and some have extraordinary bums!
