DRAFT
I know, I know. It's not the weather for it - 33'C in the UK (that's 'way too sticky and hot' in Eagle Translator) - but I can't help myself. I'm a big fan of Ozetta's fits, they cater for the taller and broader of us. I've knit 5 Lakes Pullovers, 1 Great Lakes, 1 Autumn, 1 Winter and now, am working on the new Nantucket Sweater.
This was partly born of wanting to compare it to Petite Knit's Oslo Sweater, which I was never happy with. It's too baggy, it's a poor fit for bigger person, I've seen a lot of people very happy with it, but for me, it was a disappointment.
So I thought, to be different, I would actually knit this jumper with the recommended yarn, a first for me.
I've gone for Gepart Puna Lana (50% Wool and 50% Alpaca), and rather than a two way stripe, I thought I'd go for a three way. I chose a beautiful dark brown (192 - ), a rusty brown (132 - ) and a cream (...) which I felt all complemented one another.
As for the pattern?
After a rocky start (the shoulders are quite fiddly and I made my life so much harder with the three colours over the two, and choosing to cut the yarn between stripes to 'make it easy on myself - don't do that, you won't), it came together quickly. I'm a big fan of getting in the round as soon as possible, so my project becomes the mindless knit I can do on public transport without missing my stop, rather than the knit I have to undo when I get home because I've missed an increase or a decrease 30 rows back.
